A CROSS DISCIPLINARY INITIATIVE CONNECTING NTNU, SINTEF AND EXTERNAL PARTNERS TO SOLVE THE PLASTIC POLLUTION CRISIS.

ABOUT US

PlaReCoG aims to gather the forces of Plastic related research within the NTNU system, as well as working with external partners such as, but not limited to SINTEF, NIVA, Runde Miljøsenter and Eider AS. By cooperating with the project Circular Plastic, we are aiming towards filling the gap of societal relevant knowledge about how to ultimately stop plastic pollution, enable circularity within the cycles of plastic, and enable our members to push the research front forward.

TRANSDISCIPLINARITY ...

We are a transdisciplinary group of researchers and students. We believe that groundbreaking research benefit society. Academia and its education need transdisciplinary approaches whereby multiple fields of science are coming together, learning from each other; making us able to understand each other’s research, language and culture.

The group is providing knowledge about physical infrastructure of plastic related research and development-activities and facilities at NTNU, as well as an overview of human resources. Master students in need of economical support for fieldwork within this field of research, are welcome to apply for grants.

... FACILITATING CHANGE

The research group invites all researchers and students at NTNU working with plastic pollution to join in, as we are aiming to apply for research grants together or as sub-groups to increase our common research and educational activities. We are disseminating our research as research articles, popular science articles, multimodal texts or interviews.

By interacting with policymakers as well as work towards, and together with students and private industries are we aiming towards an overarching goal of a just transition towards a cleaner, more environmentally friendly world with less plastic pollution in the ocean, along our coastlines and in inland areas.
